SUSAN LABORIANTE HOME CRAFT (SLHC) was established in May 2002. It is a member of Home Industries and Manpower Union for Rural Area Transformation (HIMURAT), Inc. (1995) a Non-Government Organization aimed to develop livelihood in the Municipality of Duenas, Iloilo, Philippines, which is also a member of Panay Loom Weavers Association, Inc. (2005), Ilonggo Producers' Association and PHILEXPORT Region VI-A (2010). SLHC produces handwoven products like Hablon (Ilonggo Hand Woven Fabric), Patadyong, Shawls, placemats, table runners and other hand loom woven products. Originally, the company uses polyester, acrylic and cotton as raw material inputs to its products. Presently, it is incorporating indigenous raw materials like abaca, raffia, seagrass and maguey fibers in its production. When Duenas chose Loomweaving as its One Town One Product (OTOP) Program, the company was able to avail of several supports from the Local Government Unit in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Fiber Industry Development Authority, Iloilo Tourism Office, the West Visayas State University -Extension Office and the Department of Labor and Employment.
